The RCSSC prides itself in being the only sports club in the Richmond/Metropolitan area that offers the opportunity to meet several hundred new people in a single afternoon. As a native of Richmond, I saw a need for people from all parts of the city, Northside, Southside, West-End and surrounding counties to come together for socializing and fun. What started in 2004 as a small program to give people the opportunity to have fun and feel like part of a comfortable social network has grown into an organization that draws nearly 3,000 participants from all over the city and the surrounding counties each year. Offering an excellent social experience at a fair price has always been my goal. We offer one venue for people to participate in the best sports AND social league in town.
The RCSSC creates year-round opportunities for individuals to play a variety of team sports in a social atmosphere that continues into happy hours at the local sponsors' bars and lasts long after the games are over. It's the perfect cocktail of sports and socializing. The RCSSC social calendar is filled every season with a kickoff happy hour for each sport, Strawberry Hill Race Tailgate parties, and an End of the Year Member Appreciation Party that showcases and supports Toys for Tots.
At RCSSC, we believe in having fun, but we also believe in giving back to the community. The RCSSC not only makes use of various parks and recs for games, but also donates much-needed equipment to youth programs throughout the city. In addition to the Rudolf the Reindeer Classic Football Tourney, the league plans to host additional fundraisers and create future sports tournament opportunities.
